Do you encourage departing employees to transfer their PF via UAN auto-transfer or do many still opt for premature withdrawal? This often leads to grievances regarding Section 192A TDS deductions (10% with PAN, or MMR without PAN if service is under 5 years) and loss of continuous service aggregation for EPS pension eligibility.
What they have tried
We added an EPF exit advisory in our offboarding kit explaining the 5-year tax aggregation rule, auto-transfer mechanics, and the benefits of retaining an EPS Scheme Certificate versus early pension withdrawal.
