Spreadsheets have stopped scaling. I need holiday tracking, documents, and a single employee record. I do not need performance modules or an AI assistant.
Desired outcome
Systems people actually run at this size, and what they regret.

Buy for the record and the leave workflow, ignore every module you will not configure this year. The most common regret at your size is paying for a suite and using 15% of it.
Ask every vendor for an export of your own data in a format you can read, before you sign. Migration pain later is worth more than a demo today.
