What does a genuinely good remote week one look like?

Our remote starters get equipment on time and then a very quiet first week. I want to replace the calendar of introduction calls with something that produces actual momentum.
Desired outcome
A week-one structure people have seen work.

Give them one small real task that ships by Friday, paired with a buddy. Meeting-only weeks make people feel like a spectator in their own job.
Write the role expectations down before day one. Most confusion in week one is not about tools, it is about what good looks like in this specific team.
